“Hey, Spence, you alright?” Spencer didn’t so much as blink. “Hey, it’s time to go,” he urges softly. Nothing. “Are you having a shutdown?” “Having a shutdown,” Spencer confirmed quietly.

David Rossi has a plan: take his kind of shitty, controversially co-ed, ten-person hockey team to States and win. There's really no chance in Hell they'll make it, but he's going to try. Then, he gets an email from Jason Gideon telling him he's got the chance of a lifetime: Aaron Hotchner, Junior Team USA player, golden child of NYSAHA, is coming to play for his team. This is exactly the opportunity he's been looking for. States is suddenly a very real possibility for the Baltimore Angels United.
As it turns out, there's a reason Aaron Hotchner is up for grabs, and Dave might be in for slightly more than he bargained for. Now, he has to figure out how to win Sectionals, prepare for States, and get Aaron to stop panicking every time he puts his skates on. Oh, and this kid named George Foyet seems hell-bent on wrecking the whole thing before Dave can even finish.

The BAU has a new team member. Unfortunately, he's not very good at skating. Fortunately, Derek Morgan thinks he's just the man for the job. OR: The moment when you're holding hands with someone to teach them how to skate and you realize they're really cute, actually.
(Can be read as a stand-alone as long as you accept that they're in high school playing hockey, but is part of AvW)

“Oh. Are you bus-”
“No, I’m not busy. What do you need?”
“I was wondering if you could stop by the grocery store and pick up some cold medicine for Jack and bring it over here. He woke up last night throwing up and it hasn’t stopped. I would go and pick it up myself, but Jessica’s out of town and I don’t want to leave him alone.”
Aaron sounds miserable and defeated, and Dave’s already putting his shoes on. “Hang in there, kiddo. I’ll be there in twenty.”
“Thank you.”

Team cuddle night is important, especially when your team leader is sick and stubborn and maybe a little bit of a bitch (Emily's words, not his). Sometimes, boundaries are a little looser at night, and everybody needs protection against the dark.

Save Me From Myself (Starlight)
Dave hasn't worked with Aaron Hotcher for very long, but he's already beginning to learn exactly what he's in for. Aaron seems willing to work through anything if it means achieving some inner goal, and sometimes, Dave has to step in to make sure no one gets hurt. The problem is, Aaron doesn't have the best track record with authority figures, and he doesn't always want to listen.

“You may need to sedate him if he doesn’t become lucid soon.”
A nurse with a needle full of what Dave assumes is a sedative. “Agent Hotchner, I need you to calm down.”
“No, no, I’m not going to-” Aaron lurches upright again.
“Morgan, come help me!” Dave grabs Aaron and steers him toward Morgan, who does his best to gently subdue him.
“Okay, boss, I’m sorry, I have to do this. Sorry, sorry. I’m really sorry, Hotch,” he rambles as the nurse comes and sticks Aaron with the needle. Dave sighs as the drug hits Aaron’s system and he slumps to the ground, unconscious.

The Inherent Trauma of Being Spencer Reid
There are some words that just get seared in your brain forever, the kind that leave marks you wish you could just forget about, logically dismiss and walk away from. Spencer's got a lot of those, and Derek accidentally stumbles over some. Now Spencer's crying in the bathroom, and JJ just wants to help. Spencer is not amused.
